Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis)

Tennis elbow, also known as lateral epicondylitis, is a common injury caused by overuse of the muscles and tendons of the forearm and elbow. The pain is usually felt around the outside of the elbow and can spread down to the wrist and fingers. It is often caused by repetitive motions, such as Gripping Hammering and Lifting.

Golfers Elbow (Medial Epicondylitis)

The pain is usually felt around the inner side of the elbow and can spread down to the wrist and fingers. It is also a common injury caused by overuse of the muscles and tendons of the forearm and elbow.

Common symptoms of Tennis and Golfer’s Elbow include:
  • Pain around the outer elbow when gripping, lifting, or straightening the arm
  • Weak grip strength
  • Pain when turning a doorknob or shaking hands
  • Pain and tenderness when touching the outside of the elbow
  • Pain that radiates from the elbow down the forearm into the wrist and fingers

Short Term Goal

To reduce the pain and swelling usually involves rest, ice, compression, anti-inflammatory medications (As per physician). Additionally, physical therapy may be recommended to help reduce pain and improve the range of motion.
